Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Pat the salmon fillets dry and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Season with salt and pepper.
In a small bowl, combine the melted butter or olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Spoon or brush the mixture evenly over the salmon fillets.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork (internal temperature should reach 145°F).
Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh dill or parsley before serving.
